Astrologer, licensed physician, and Whig partisan, who had an astrological practice in Lambeth, later in Southwark. His Vox Stellarum, an Almanac for 1701 with astrological observations appeared in 1700. Old Moore's Almanac long outlived its creator, and sold extremely well throughout the 18th and 19th cents, and it still thrives thanks to its reputation for sensationalism and prophecy; its print-order in 1975 ran to one and three quarter millions.
